I remember loving Mother’s day as a kid. The chance to make or pick out my own gift for my mother and grandmothers’, that was surely going to be featured in prominent living spaces for years to come. Now that I am a mom to two toddlers and a babe on the way, Mother’s day has a whole new meaning. I tend to prefer gifts of the simple variety like family outings with the kiddos or a clean house but regardless of how big or small we celebrate, I have to be explicit with my husband around what my wishes are. When we moved into our house last spring, the first project I wanted to jump into was renovating our powder room. It had terrible wallpaper and a broken vanity. This one I found myself and ordered for my very first Mother’s day. They are personalized with their birth details, and I keep mementos in there for each of them for years to come.
